It's so hot! 天气好热啊! tiān qì hǎo rè a! With heat waves come and go, some places have broken heat records this summer. Guess who!? Got no time to read? Here's a short clip to it: https://youtu.be/dB8ZNF4BQvk 1. Quebec 魁北克 (kuí běi kè)The whole eastern Canada has been suffering from heat this summer. Quebec alone had over 70 deaths due to the heat in July 2018. 2. Caucasus Region 高加索区 (gāo jiā suǒ qū)Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia hit its record high of 40.5C on 4th of July. Its neighbour had no luck battling the heat either. Iran faced major power cuts of power as its demand outstripped electricity system's capabilities as residents trying to stay cool. 3. South California 南加州 (nán jiā zhōu)Downtown L.A. had its hottest night temperature in July in the history. 4. Sydney, Australia 澳洲 悉尼 (ào zhōu xī ní)Bare in mind, it's middle of the winter in Australia. Still, it hit record high of 24.7C, which is approx. 8.0C higher than the average in the time last year! 5. Algeria 阿尔及利亚 (ā ěr jí lì yǎ)This one is a MAYBE. Lots of heat records been broken in Africa. The last highest record ever recorded was in 55C in Tunisia in 1931. However, it's arguable that whether it was a legit ground temperature. The highest ground temperature record was in on 5th of July: 51.3C We'll be covering more regarding environment protection, such as plastic ban and climate change in the future.
